Who We Are

An English-speaking Interfaith Community

At the Tokyo Interfaith Council (TIC) we can currently welcome leaders and members from Buddhist, Shinto, Muslim, LDS, Baha’i, Catholic, other Christian, and Jewish faiths. We are seeking additional voices of faith leaders to contribute to our council.

Our faith traditions teach us to love and respect the divine and each other. In this ever secularized and contentious world we can be a great example of the importance of faith in bridging differences and making a difference for good.

TIC Principles

  • We encourage cooperation and joint service efforts for the improvement of communities.

  • We educate about religious faith through programs including prayer services, discussions, dialogues, and celebration of religious festivals.

  • We lead interfaith worship service in observance of global and local issues.

  • We educate the community of the positive role that religion can play on a global and local basis through education and cooperation.
